Coming up at the Santa Bárbara Mission Archive-Library is “Earthquakes at the Old Mission: 1925 Was Not the First!” featuring Robert Hoover, emeritus professor at Cal Poly SLO, and Tina Foss, emeritus director of the Old Mission Santa Barbara Museum.
Robert Hoover, emeritus professor at Cal Poly SLO, and Tina Foss, emeritus director of the Old Mission Santa Barbara Museum will present in conversation fascinating information concerning not only the 1925 Earthquake and its impact on Old Mission Santa Barbara, but also information about other earthquakes in its history which led to the construction of the current Old Mission. The presentation will also speak to the scramble to decide what to do after the 1925 Earthquake to preserve the then hundred-year-old Mission’s historic and artistic heritage.
