The Amgen Tour of California will return to the Santa Barbara South Coast! This marks the eighth time — and the fifth year in a row — the Santa Barbara region has hosted the seven-stage, 600-mile tour, which begins May 14 in Sacramento and concludes May 20 in Pasadena. The Santa Barbara start will take place along oceanfront Cabrillo Boulevard.
For seven days, some of the world’s top professional cycling teams will compete in a challenging course that includes nearly 700 miles of scenic California highways and roadways. Santa Barbara will host the Stage 4 start of the 2017 Amgen Tour of California men’s competition on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
Uniquely situated between the mountains and ocean, Santa Barbara and the neighboring South Coast communities of Goleta, Montecito and Summerland offer both cyclists and fans a true taste of California. Our clean air, beautiful beaches, sparkling waterfront and mountains invite visitors to enjoy the area’s healthy lifestyle and provide endless outdoor recreational activities.
