Hosted by Old Spanish Days in partnership with Paseo Nuevo, the inaugural Fiesta Dog Parade brings a festive new tradition to downtown Santa Barbara. This lively, family-friendly event invites the public to gather along State Street and Paseo Nuevo to enjoy a colorful parade of costumed dogs and their humans celebrating Santa Barbara’s rich cultural heritage, community spirit, and love of pets.
The event features Fiesta-inspired costumes, a DJ, vendor booths, a red carpet moment for contest winners, and on-site activities hosted by nonprofit partner Santa Barbara Humane, including a dog hydration station, photo backdrop, and information booth highlighting local pet resources and animal welfare programs.
Participation in the parade is limited to registered dogs and their handlers. Registered participants are encouraged to dress in festive Old Spanish Days style, and each dog will receive a commemorative inaugural bandana.
The event is free to attend for spectators. Advance registration is required for parade participants and is limited to 126 dogs. Registration is $45, with additional dogs $15 each.
