Calendar of Events

During the month of April, Santa Barbara’s events calendar is filled with festivals aplenty. From Founding Day Celebrations to Music and Wine Festivals, you’ll wish you had planned to stay all month long. Here's a list of can't-miss festivals during the month of April.

Upcoming Events

2018 Season at the Santa Barbara Bowl

Enjoy a show at Santa Barbara’s outdoor venue, nestled in the foothills of The American Riviera®.  With views of the Channel Islands and Downtown Santa Barbara, be sure to enjoy some music under the stars as you admire the cityscape, while listening to some of your favorite artists live.

36th Annual Santa Barbara Vintners Festival

Join us for the 26th Annual Vintners Festival in majestic Santa Barbara wine country, where vintners still pour their own wines. Taste from over 100 wineries, savor our best local fare from farmers to foragers, and meet the chefs who make it magical. Drink in the sparkling Bubble Lounge, listen to live music, learn from our cooking demos and let our landscape soothe your soul.

48th Annual Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival

This festival is the longest-running and most consistently held public Earth Day celebration in the U.S. and is thought to be one of the largest on the West Coast. Join us for family programming and activities for all ages. The festival will be featuring sustainable, local foods, a beer and wine garden, and over 200 eco-conscious exhibitors.

Founding Day Festival

Commemorate 236 years of history at the birthplace of Santa Barbara, El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park. Celebrate the history of Santa Barbara at the Founding Day Festival with a costumed reenactment of the original Founding Ceremony held in 1782, education activities for the whole family, and local entertainment in the heart of historical downtown Santa Barbara.

Roar & Pour Wine Festival

Enjoy tasting from more than 30 local wineries on this spring evening when the animals stay out late and the entire zoo is open for guests to sip and stroll through. Tasty treats from local food trucks will be available for sale… and don’t miss the VIP experience available with additional tasting of reserve wines and pairings!

iMadonnari Italian Street Painting Festival

Madonnari, or street painters, transform the Mission plaza using pastels on pavement to create 150 vibrant and colorful, large scale images. Old Mission Santa Barbara is proud to be the first to bring this romantic festival to the western hemisphere from its sister festival in Grazie di Curtatone, Italy. Don’t miss one of Santa Barbara’s most beloved annual festivals.
