Learn practical strategies for maintaining fire-resilient landscapes during this half-day workshop presented by the Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council in partnership with Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. Designed for landscape maintenance professionals, the program focuses on effective plant maintenance techniques in high fire risk areas and provides tools for communicating fire-resilient landscaping decisions to clients.

Offered twice during the summer, each workshop covers similar core concepts while incorporating a seasonal focus. Participants who successfully complete the course have the option to earn a Certificate of Completion from the Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council and be featured in the Council’s Certified Provider Listing.

The workshop begins in the Garden Library and concludes with a guided walk through the Garden. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
