Celebrate the music of English Baroque composer Henry Purcell as the Santa Barbara Master Chorale presents a program of vocal, instrumental and dance performances under the direction of new Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. William Cutter.

The program features selections from Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas, the celebratory ode Come Ye Sons of Art and the Rondeau from Abdelazer, a work that found a new contemporary audience through its use in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice. Two lesser-known instrumental works will also be featured.

Featured vocalists include sopranos Nichole Dechaine, Nikki Martina Seppala Kurnik, Sharlae Jenkins and Cari Voth, mezzo-soprano Julie Davis, and baritone Matthew Peterson. Carrie Diamond, artistic director of The Dance Hub, provides choreography performed by Summer Fowler, Evelyn Mills and Maya Singer.

Cutter previously directed choral programs at MIT and served as a rehearsal conductor and chorus master for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops.
