
The Santa Barbara Visitor Trolley is proud to provide a convenient mode of transportation for visitors and residents, facilitating unique and efficient travel between downtown Santa Barbara and the vibrant Funk Zone. The State Street Promenade has become a trendy destination for exploring a wide range of shopping, dining, cultural and entertainment experiences—and a ride on the trolley is the perfect way to explore this downtown highlight and so much more.
Before you hop aboard, here is everything you need to know about the Santa Barbara Visitor Trolley.
VISITOR TROLLEY SCHEDULE
The Santa Barbara Visitor Trolley departs from Hotel Californian on the hour and half hour, Friday through Sunday—from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.— through the end of September. The tour, in total, is 20 minutes long. Please note that the tours will pause through the month of October and resume during the holidays. Be sure to check back for updates on the November/December schedule.
Pick up and drop off locations:
Hotel Californian: 36 State Street (last departure of the day is at 4:30 p.m.)
Paseo Nuevo: Chapala Street between Ortega and Canon Perdido Streets
Santa Barbara County Courthouse: 200 East Anapamu Street
Ortega City Lot 10: 600 block of Anacapa Street, between Ortega and Cota Streets
WHAT TO EXPECT
The fee to ride the Trolley is $1 and can be purchased with cash or card at the State Street Visitor Center (120 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA, 93101). However, please note that only cash is accepted if you decide to purchase as you board the trolley. Signs will be clearly posted at each stop on the days the trolley is operating. The Trolley is ADA accessible and no reservations are required.
Additionally, the trolley drivers will narrate key Santa Barbara facts during the 20-minute trip and are available to answer any visitor questions.
