Established in 1973 and the first vineyard to plant Syrah in the area in 1978, Zaca Mesa is a family-owned estate winery that helped pioneer Santa Barbara County’s Rhône movement. Guided by our values of craftsmanship, tradition, and sustainability, we blend old-world winemaking techniques with innovative farming practices and remain dedicated to crafting quality estate-grown wines. Our winery has been a training ground for many great winemakers, earning the moniker “Zaca University” and further establishing Zaca Mesa as a renowned producer of Central Coast wines. Continuing Zaca Mesa’s legacy today is Winemaker Kristin Bryden, who became head winemaker in 2016. Bryden takes a hands-on, artisanal approach to crafting quality wines that are true reflections of the vineyard and appellation.

Our estate is family-friendly and dog-friendly on our spacious tasting room courtyard. We have a lovely walking path around our Grenache Blanc Vineyard just in front of our winery where you can stroll with your furry friends while taking in the beautiful pastoral scenery (0.6 mile loop). Enjoy a wine tasting flight in our Courtyard or our elegant Lounge & Terrace.
