Explore how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of research at AI in Action: Conversations with UCSB Researchers, featuring Simon Billinge and Nina Miolane. This event includes short presentations highlighting innovative real-world applications of AI, followed by a moderated discussion on emerging trends, challenges, and ethical considerations.

Billinge will examine the rapid evolution of AI-powered chatbots and their growing role in scientific research, while Miolane will share how AI is being used to develop “digital twins” of the brain to better understand health, aging, and personalized care.

Part of UCSB Library’s AI in Action speaker series, this program brings together interdisciplinary perspectives to explore how AI is expanding knowledge and transforming fields from materials science to neuroscience. Advance registration is recommended, as space is limited.
