Celebrate the opening of the Art, Design & Architecture Museum at UC Santa Barbara’s Summer/Fall 2026 exhibitions during this public reception featuring Bonnie Ora Sherk: Life Frames since 1970 and Jackie Amézquita: Gemidos de la Tierra. Guests will have the opportunity to explore both exhibitions while enjoying an evening of art, music, and community.
Bonnie Ora Sherk: Life Frames since 1970 is the first survey exhibition dedicated to the late artist, environmental educator, and landscape planner, highlighting her pioneering contributions to conceptual art, ecological practice, and public space. Jackie Amézquita: Gemidos de la Tierra presents new and recent work by the Los Angeles-based interdisciplinary artist, exploring migration, collective memory, and the connections between people, land, and the natural world through ancestral and ecological perspectives.
The reception features music curated by DJ Darla Bea and light refreshments.
