Discover the fundamentals of traditional Tai Chi during this introductory class led by Master Yun of Master Yun Traditional Tai Chi & Kung Fu. Participants will learn basic Tai Chi postures, begin practicing the traditional form, and explore additional exercises designed to deepen their understanding of the movements.

Known for its many health benefits, Tai Chi emphasizes relaxation, balance, posture, and the cultivation of internal energy, or “Chi.” While the practice focuses on wellness and mindful movement, each posture also has self-defense applications rooted in traditional martial arts.

About the Instructor:
Master Yun (Yun Chao Zhang) has studied Traditional Chinese Martial Arts since the age of six. With more than 50 years of experience, he has trained in Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Wu Style Tai Chi Quan, and Shang Style Xing Yi. A recipient of numerous awards in Kung Fu, Swordsmanship, and Tai Chi Quan, including induction into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Master Yun has taught throughout the world for more than 30 years and currently teaches Tai Chi and Kung Fu at UC Santa Barbara.
