Nestled in the beautiful and luxurious town of Montecito, a 15-minute drive from downtown Santa Barbara, Miramar Beach is one of the area’s most notable hidden gems. Miramar Beach is a narrow sandy enclave surrounded by incredible beachfront properties and the iconic Rosewood Miramar Beach resort. For those not lodging along its coastline, you can access the public beach area via the Eucalyptus Lane Beach Access pathway.
Things to Do at Miramar Beach
At Miramar Beach, you’ll often find people walking along the shore, taking in the views of the stunning properties that surround the beach, walking their dogs (yes—friendly, leashed pups are welcome!), basking in the sun, surfing or stand-up paddleboarding. The beach is also within walking distance to other popular beaches in the area, like Fernald Point Beach, Butterfly Beach and Hammond’s Beach, which is known for legendary surf breaks and prolific tide pools.
Please note that there are no public facilities at Miramar Beach.
Rosewood Miramar Beach
The Rosewood Miramar Beach sits at the site of the former Miramar By The Beach Hotel, a cherished landmark in Montecito history. The five-star resort property is known for its casually elegant atmosphere and features 150 guest rooms across its 16 acres. Day-trip visitors are welcome to dine at the property’s on-site restaurants, Caruso’s and The Revere Room, grab cocktails at The Manor Bar, or indulge in a relaxing spa treatment at Sense, a Rosewood Spa.
