The traveling public has spoken, and we love their love for Santa Barbara. Conde Nast Traveler magazine’s 2018 Reader’s Choice Awards placed Santa Barbara on the list of “Best Small Cities in the U.S.” We were in very good company, with other beloved, iconic destinations like Charleston, SC and Santa Fe, NM.
Of Santa Barbara, the magazine wrote, “You won’t be hard pressed to find things to do in Los Angeles’s northern neighbor, also known as the American Riviera.” When here, the editors recommended that visitors check out our local wineries and orchid growers, and—of course—make themselves at home at one of our fabulous luxury hotels.
Keeping with tradition, several Santa Barbara hotels also received endorsements on the 2020 Reader’s Choice Awards list. Belmond El Encanto (#5) was among the “Top 20 Hotels in Southern California.” When it came to the “Top 15 Resorts in Southern California,” San Ysidro Ranch and the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara were #4 and #7, respectively.
